When Dana is shown into the actual front room of the Fool’s Paradise she is astounded.  The place is beautiful and magical.  It was like walking on to some magnificent film set where everyone is dressed to the nines and furnishings are exquisite, the band leader snappily dressed and pretty couples either turning on the dance floor or eating delicious looking dishes which remind Dana how hungry she is.  Since she has to earn her keep, Dana starts waiting tables that same night and as it turns out she is not exceptionally talented at the job.  In fact, she’s an awful waitress.

Next day Dana starts looking for employment as a studio singer but is confronted to a series of rejections. She considers returning to her hometown. At the same time Eberhardt a businessman who deals in real estate visits Frank trying to buy out the ‘Fool’s Paradise’ Club. After Frank declares that there is no way that he will sell it, Eberhardt threatens him and declares that he will defeat him.  Eberhardt is a tough man who deals by intimidation.

Meanwhile, Dana continues waitressing, causing more damage and embarrassing situations than doing good. Patrikk who she seems to have taken a liking in offers to help her. He doesn’t know a thing about waiting tables but offers to teach her a new skill, swing dancing, since he is currently without a partner. She agrees but is a little wary knowing how she was suckered by the last good-looking man trying to help her.  They practice and spend more and more time together, Patrikk shows Dana the beauty of a summer spent in Hamburg and they fall in love. When they have their first dance show together it is a huge success and they get applauded by the packed ‘Fool’s Paradise’ audience.

Meanwhile we find out that Till is actually on Eberhardt’s payroll, trying to sabotage the ‘Fool’s Paradise’ from within. And so the building department, due to some minor safety law, shuts down the place. And Frank does not have the necessary cash for renovations to comply with the strict building regulations.

Dana organizes a save the ‘Fool’s Paradise’ group who perform shows of singing, dancing, miming, juggling in Parks, Malls and public squares collecting money for the renovations. Dana and the others surprise Frank with the collected funds on his birthday. Frank gratefully promises Dana to let her sing on the main stage...
